- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 ½ teaspoon hot sauce (or to taste)
- 1/2 cup sliced green onions, divided
- 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (divided)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup slivered or sliced almonds

Step-by-Step Guide
1. To your slow cooker add your chicken.
2. In a small bowl whisk together the cream of chicken soup, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and hot sauce.

3. Spread the cream of chicken soup mixture over the chicken.

4. Sprinkle half of the scallions and half of the bacon on top.

5. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, or high for 4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through (internal temp 165°F).
6. Shred or chop the chicken into pieces.
7. Stir in the sour cream and heavy cream and the shredded cheddar cheese.
8. In a separate bowl, mix the crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter.
9. Pour over the chicken mixture.
10. Top with the remaining green onions and bacon.
11. Sprinkle the almonds evenly over the top.

12. Cover and cook for another 20–30 minutes on low just to melt the cheese and soften the cracker topping.

13. Serve!

Tips & Tricks
- Use thick-cut bacon for best flavor and texture in the topping.
- Stir the heavy cream and sour cream in at the end to prevent curdling or separation.
- To keep the topping from getting soggy, add the Ritz mixture during the last 30 minutes of cook time.
- Chop or shred the chicken right in the slow cooker with two forks to save dishes.
- For even cooking, choose similar-sized chicken breasts or lightly flatten them before adding.

Substitutions
- Cream of chicken soup – Sub with cream of mushroom or cream of celery if preferred.
- Hot sauce – Leave it out for a milder version, or sub with chipotle sauce for smoky heat.
- Sour cream – Use plain Greek yogurt or softened cream cheese.
- Cheddar cheese – Swap with Monterey Jack, Colby Jack, or a cheddar blend.
- Almonds – Optional; omit if there are allergies or sub with crushed pretzels or panko.

Variations
- Buffalo-style – Add extra hot sauce and swap cheddar for blue cheese crumbles.
- Ranch chicken casserole – Replace the hot sauce with 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix.
- Veggie-loaded – Stir in cooked broccoli or peas before adding the topping.
- Tex-Mex twist – Swap cheddar for pepper jack, and add corn and black beans.
- Low carb option – Skip the cracker topping and serve with cauliflower rice.
